you will probably pickup about 10-15% HP over pump gas, about half of that for race gas. Per gallon, it's cheaper, but you burn almost 2x as much, so it's really not too much cheaper. the screw on the side is for boost jets. yes, you still have a main jet, but I'm pretty sure there's more to it than installing boost jets and rejetting. additionally, you'll need to bump your compression up. methanol will gather moisture, which is corrosive to your carbs and motor, so you have to purge your carbs and stuff with race gas when you are done riding so that the alcohol doesn't sit in your carbs and cause them to corrode from the moisture they are gathering. in relation to the moisture thing, you can't have a jug of mixed methanol sitting in your garage for weeks on end either, unlike race gas.

I WANTED TO SWITCH MY DRAG BIKE TO IT, BUT NOW I'M NOT SURE AFTER READING ODAENS POST. I'M DEFINATELY GOING TO SILVER LAKE! U? |

| might wanna PM five0nick about alcohol. for serious draggin', it's definitely worth it. it's just not as straight-forward as you might think, and it forces you to take care of your stuff. but there's nothing like the smell of burnt methanol

| Go to davemooreracing.com and check out his new booster for alky, it looks like the new hot ticket. I think he can convert a Kehien. Everything Odaen said applies, it doesnt burn twice as much putting around but when your on the throttle pretty heavy it sucks pretty hard. I love alky, but sometimes people switch to it without any problems and sometime others dont. For example I ran it for 2 years in my Suzuki with not a single problem, loved the torque it made. Tried it in my honda, wow ran great until it detonated the piss out of my motor. I tried everything I can think of without shelling out cash to make it a alky only bike and it didnt work so thats it, back to gas. If you have questions on the specifics of what exactly you need to get started PM and I can hit you with the basics or contact dave. Or even that racing company in MI I gave you the site for, Im sure they have some experience. Or A&S is in MI, they have tons of experience with converting Kehiens to meth. Good luck. |
