Exclamation Left Carb Problem

I just put my shee together and all ive had is problem after problem. My motor was ported by eviltwin head shaved and lightend flywheel ,t5s and i bought some boysen reeds and vitos ported jet kit 330 mains and 30 pilot. The first time i started the bike it was reving to the moon since my ignition is screwd up i had to pull the sparkplug cord and i got shocked really bad when i pulled the plugs i had my hand on the handlebars so both of my arms got zapped.Well i started to look for an airleak and i was told you couldnt hear them so i bought some wd 40 and sprayed around for a leak.the air leak was being caused by the intake boots not being tightend enough so i fixxed the problem. Here's the problem that i cant seem to figure out my left carb keeps throwin gas out the overflow hose(lowest hose).Right when i turned on the fuel on the petcock i notcied fuel leaking out the carb.I took the carb off and cleaned it with carb cleaner, put it back on and it was leakin again. Then i measurd the float height and it was 21mm so i put it back on the bike and its still leaking.I dont really know what else would cause the carb to leak its like nothing is holding the fuel in there its just pouring out.Ive also tapped the side of the bowl to unstick the floats but no luck doing that.Any help would be great.I JUST WANNA RIDE!!!

the lowest carb hose is a drain hose. the screw near the bottem of the float bowl may be loose causeing it to drain the fuel as it comes in. if it is the hose i am thinkin of from your discription all you would need to do is tighten it and you should be good to go.

so what did you do???? did you have the float assembly off? if so the tab where the fuel inlet valve connects to may be out of spec. i know you said you checked it but check and recheck.

hmmmmm... if all you did was swap out mains then you shouldent of messed with any float hights. well.... take that left carb off, and wile your at it take the right one off too. yank the float bowls off and make shure every thing is where its sopose to be. maybe the splash shield came off, or was positioned wrong durring assembly. or maybe for some reson or another the shut off valve came dissconnected from the float. give them a good once over.
