| I DONT THINK IT would be on the axle. and even if IT WAS i cant get the axles out! somehow they are attached to the differential, but i cant tell how.i removed the bearing caps and the pin that runs through the center of the diff. but they still wont come out |

| ummm i know on some of the chevys you have to pull the axles out.. like take the tire off unbolt it there.. o and i didnt mean the axle it self i ment the outside.

| You have to take out the spider gear shaft first then the axles can be pushed in and then the clips can be removed. |

| You have to take out the small pin which is an 8mm or a 5/16. That in turn releases the larger pin that keeps the axles pushed out. Then you need to push the axles in from the end, this allows room to remove the C-clip. Once the C-clip is removed you can pull the axle out of the rear end. To figure the gear ratio, count the ring gear teeth and count the pinion teeth. Then divide. That is your gear ratio. If you have a newer style truck like an '88 and up you have 3.73:1 gears. Thats the most common gear for that truck. If you plan to wheel this thing, get different rears. They are EXTREMELY weak. I have already spit a tooth out of my cover 4 times. I am getting sick of welding it up!!!HAHA |
