Default Clutch it!

So i've rebuilt a 98 blaster... the only thing i havn't done is the clutch. After the rebuild i noticed the clutch slipping like crazy. i can totaly dump the clutch and it feels like i'm barely letting it go. so my question is when i replace the clutch should i replace the basket too? it does have some grooving on it. and as far as ajusting them how do you guys do it?.... last time i did it, it wasn't right so i had to pull the side case off again. is there anyways to avoid this and do it right the first time?

You can file down the stock basket, but I'd replace it w/ a billet one.....I adjust mine to engage at the last 1/4 of lever release, the mark on your case and the clutch push lever may not exactly line up, but that's ok........

Yeah i've seen those billet baskets there like 200 bucks... are they really worth the 200 bucks?... i know i can go to the dealer ship and get a stock one for like half of that. Or if you know somewhere to get them cheaper that would be nice

i run hinson in my LT and blaster.never had a problem.my LT clutch takes alot of abuse.the hinson has shown no real signs of wear yet.after probably atleast 100 hours of hammering the hell outta it.i have also heard about using heavy LT500 springs.but never got a chance to get measurements.i'd really like to know how much stiffer they are and if that works.im gonna need them without a lockup.

yeah i not sure about if those lt 500 springs will work or not... i ordered some stiffer springs for my clutch havn't put them in yet... i'm waiting until i get a new basket. i did hear to be careful with too stiff of springs because it makes it a bitch to pull the clutch back. i'll have to see with mine, i also read on here you can alternate springs(use a couple heavies and a couple lighter springs) which i might try if its too much. ONLYTWOSTROKE did your hinson basket come with a drive gear? or do you have to take it off of the old basket? because the ones i've seen online don't look like the have a gear.
