Default Yz 250 clutch sticking

I am wondering why my clutch sticks on my 98 yz250. It has sat for a couple of months and the clutch is new and the cable is new but when i start it and put it in gear with the clutch in it lags and kills the motor. The clutch is sticking for some reason. The tranny fluid is new. Any help?

First off, are you sure it's adjusted properly? I'd check that first if the clutch, cable, and oil is new.

if it sat for awhile the oil could have drained off the plates and dried them out.

drain it and add new fluid... then turn the cable in on the adjuster 1 turn.. see if it helps any..... if not drain it and take the cover off and take the plates off one at a time. they are probably stuck to the metal pressure plate
