Hard drive crash

Well it happed to me. I'm getting the unmountable boot volume error on the blue screen of death. My hard drive is making a clicking sound too
On the brite side I back up my drive on the regular so data loss was minimal
What this means is I might not be on all day as usual but still daily. I still love you guys and I didn't buy a 4 stroke! Cash is now being diverted to the new computer fund as we speak since my old putter is a dinosaur now anyways.....

Good thing you back it up....the pictures and stuff that I can never retake or replace I backup on a DVD every month or so...

Get a new system....do yourself a favor, get the 10K spindle speed Western Digital Raptor Serial ATA hard drives. they have a 5 year warranty on them....

I'm hoping you're building your own, and not buying a store bought PC...right Paulie?

I only ever use a laptop computer. I love it and it goes everywhere with me, in the garage, kichen, bedroom, on vacation. I have a desktop but it's so old you have to shovel coal to get it to work.
My notebook specs are intel pentium 4 @ 3.06 mhz, 512 memory, and 40 gig drive. I picked it up for $800 through Dell a few years ago.
Now a days I can get basiclly double the speed, memory, and drive space for half the cost! I don't think they have build your own laptops so I'll prolly buy one already done.
Anybody know where I can get a deal on a good laptop???

Sam's Club or Costco.
You can get good deals here and there from the big companies like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., but you have to read the fine print. Often it's a few hundred dollars worth of main in rebates.
I can't STAND mail in rebates. They always find a reason to either disqualify you, it takes FOREVER in the mail...or...it seems to get LOST to them or from them.

Also, keep in mind, what Sam's and Costco have online won't match what they have at the store, and Vice versa...

my trusty dell laptop gets me on here all the time.. places games very well too... but then again $1300 should be able to get ya somthing good..

as for good laptop i would stray from any retail store they normaly charge the same amount for a laptop when you could be a decent one from lets say

man i love my macbook it has everything you could ever want but it does have a nice big price tag and you dont have to have all that virus protection crap if you dont want to

With windows, you have to rebuild your harddrive like once a year to keep the spyware under control. Mac is much more stable.
