| the rod isn't longer. that would be a LONG ROD crank. you are getting a STROKER crank. the swing would be 3mm or 4mm more. do you want to trench your cases to fit the 4mm. that's the question you need to ask yourself. extra money and time.

| i don't know what you mean by inserts. where did you find that at? i've never heard of them. i've heard of stuffer cranks tho. 2mm and 3mm for the blaster. are you looking for a stroker setup with the 240 big bore. or a long rod motor with the 240 big bore. the usual setup is the 3mm stroker with the 240. hot rods is good. i don't know about sms.

| im no blaster expert, but Ive heard that if you go with a 4mil or longer stroke crank then it takes away from the high rpm power and gives a more leanier and torqey powerband, and you have to trench the cases. but the 3 mil drops right in.

Yeah that's what it is stuffer cranks and yea ima do a 240 big bore and a long rod. they say something about the stuffer gives it more acceleration or something. i might get the vitos one like ky said they drop right in and i dont wanna trench the motor yet. |

| where are you getting the 3mil from? if your getting it from vitos it is not a long rod. it is a stroker. It actually increases the stroke of the engine/ increases the cc's of the engine. A long rod is actully just a longer crank rod and doesnt really do near as much as the stroker crank. If it even does anything at all. I would guess that it would increase the tourque.

| a long rod motor has less side load on the piston. it gives you a little bit better engine life, but no increase in displacement.

| dont forget about the cylinder porting.this is a must to get the most out of it.the ports will not be matched with the addidtional stroke/movement of the piston without porting.you wil only see a fraction of the power. |
