So you're making exuses why quads are two seconds behind MX bikes? Now figure you have two extra wheels. Does thatt mean nothing to you? Sure a quad weighs more, but you can go around corners just by turning. Of course, I've rode quads, I know about all the weighting countersteering, blah blah... But look at a motocross bike.. If you turn the bars going 40 mph, the bike is going to keep going.. It requires so much more balance and everything.. From sitting on the side of the seat, sticking your foot out, all with the handelbars inches from the ground. The slightest things make a huge diffrence. From sliding up on the gas tank, to weighing the outside footpeg for traction, even the slightest body english mistake or missplacement, it makes a HUGE diffrence.


Look.. Motocross has been around for over 30 years. From the first known race, 82 years.

Seriously.. By saying I would use a quad for tooling around, doesn't mean that quads can't go on a motocross track. Most tracks around here don't allow quads. And the ones that do, are HEAVILY favored to MX riders. Meaning, there are motocross ruts, lots of whoops sections, and not to mention motocrossers don't take kindly to quad riders destroying there favorite ruts. Trust me, they do. I'm sure the track they were testing on favored quad riders.

If you think thats how you ride a quad fast its not. it requires a lot of moving around on the fourwheeler where your weight is matters alot. so do bikes though. imo its easier to go fast on a two wheeler...

Unlike 95% of the people on here, I'm not like you guys. I can construct an intelligible sentance (Seams to happen rarely here). I realize noise is an issue, and I try to raise public awareness about it (People here don't see it as being a problem). I act respectfull when i'm riding or in public, so people out of the sport won't sterotype us as being "Typical dumb quad/dirt bike riders". I abide by all laws of the state (There are lots of people who brag on here about riding on the road, and running from cops). I'm as respectfull as I can be on the track, or around anybody else while i'm riding (I've seen 10+ quad riders who do doughnuts in the parking lot, just to make dust and piss people off).

Look, i'm not posting to start fights. I like four-strokes just as much as two-strokes. Its like four wheelers and bikes. Sure I have a prefrence. Two-stroke bikes. But i'm not going to make up crap like "Four-strokes suck. They are shit". That is just so stupid. You're basicly saying pro racing sucks. Almost all cars are shit (With the acception of 1960's SAAB's and Mazda rotarry motors).. I just don't get whats with all you guys and you deap hate for four-strokes.

First of all i never said you did something wrong. what the fuck does it matter how people type. i never said four strokes suck they arent as powerful as a two stroke and they sound like shit. and youre acting like only quad riders are dicks when it doesnt matter what you ride some people are just asses.

Red Bud is pretty much my home track. I went to about every MX race at Red Bud since I was three years old.. I watched the ATV MX on tv today. I coudn't belive it. Those guys were sitting almost everywhere! Not to mention the quads completly destroy the corners; sweeping the dirt out and destroying motocrossers lines. But the track was so smooth because of it.. And around corners, all they do is weigh the inside, countersteer, and gas it.. I know you have to stay loose, and make body ajustments on fourwheelers.. But I was shocked.. If you watch the motocross nationals, those guys are standing everywhere.. The track gets so rough tha pretty much the only place there sitting is when they let off the breaking, to when they start rolling on the throttle in the corners.

Four wheels.
Two wheels.

Can you not see the huge advantage of having four wheels around a corner? Its so impracticle that you think its easy to go fast on a motocross bike.

I think that its easier to go fast in two wheels than four. you dont have to think that. but that is why i said IMO

Lets say you are running wfo in the desert it is easier to pick a line that you want to take therefore you can go faster. riding in the dunes running through the bowls and shit the bike cuts through everything therefore being able to go faster.

i dont give a shit about motocross what percent of people ride motocross compared to other off road. picking lines makes you go faster on two wheels because you dont have to keep track of the other wheels and where they are whether or not they are gonna hit a rock or a rut or something like that. you dont think i ride in sand. i know how the front end always washes out. steer with the rear and use the gas to turn.
