Default Honda TRX480R

Just thought I'd post after seeing some nice projects in here. I took an 83 CR480R and mated it to an 87 TRX250X. The quad was (and still is) in total disrepair from the previous owner. The dirtbike was falling apart too, but the engine was tight.

The kickstart is from the 'X and I had to bend it in two places to clear the frame. The exhaust tucks in nicely and doesn't rub anything after some cutting/rotating/brazing. Muffler is not too low to hit the swingarm at full compression.

I have an old friend that did this type of setup before, but I never got to see it. He only used it for hill climbing.

It's still a work in progress and needs a ton of bolt-on bling and I still have to weld a few places together, but it's been the most fun project I've done so far. Took it for a ride today; It's a monster and I need to gear it down a bit. First is way too high.

that's a pretty sweet project...is the 480/250x a common project because they are both right hand drive?? I would think you better extend that thing out to be able to handle that power. Do the 250x's handle pretty good when widened out?

heres a quick pic of our 500 cc blaster. we're almost done, just need a rear brake caliper and front brake cables and a twist throttle and this thing will be ready to test ride.

does yours vibrate alot??? cause I think ours is maybe gonna have a problem cause it does when you rev it. and the exhaust may also be a problem later on, but this is only gonna be a drag bike if it runs like we hope it does
