Default Winter Projects

Ok ATV and Dirtbike guys (snowmobile guys we know what we will be doing this winter, RIDING) what are your plans for this winter. Are you rebuilding, doing a top end, or just adding more parts?

Here are my plans

Direct Drive Clutch case mod
Polish Clutch Case
New Stator Cover Billet
Polished Carbs
Cool Head
Rebuild Top end (just so its fresh not that it needs it)
Stainless steal braided radiator lines
Elka Shocks for the Front
New Fulbore plastics front and rear (only for when at shows)
Toomey Radiator

That is my Hope to get done this winter. We shall see what it actually turns out to be. So ok now that I gave you my list lets hear it what are you doing this winter?

I have a 2001 kx 250 and i just rebult the top end so thats good for now but i think i am going to tear it all down and try and make it look new again because it is pretty shady. its in gret shape but could use some cosmetic attention. there is a crack in the frame under the seat that someone alredy tried to weld it...ya "tried" not very hard!!!i will have to reweld that. if anybody has any sugestions like where i can get a matching pant for the frame.
also needs new sprockets and chain, tires.
The major project for the winter is new tran in the old camaro. ditchin the soft 700R4 for a rebuilt TH350 with a 3000 stall converter, then a set of 3.73:1 rear gears so i can still drive the thing on the high way, wont go very fast with the 4.11's i got in it right now........

I plan on working on the CR500LT. I also plan on replacing about every bearing on the LT other than the motor cause it only has about 30 hrs since last rebuild. Would like to do some powder coating but we will have to see and I hope to get my spare jug resleeved and put it on cause it is in better shape than the one on it right now. I will have to wait and see since I am going to be moving sometime this winter.

Top end on the old DT250, and then figure out why it won't run right if this doesn't fix it. I figure its 30 years old, it needs a top end. Gonna ride the old 4-joke as much as possible, while trying to keep it as nice as possible, it is probably getting tossed aside for a banshee this spring if all goes well. =)

I don't know what all you guys have to do, but i know as long as my bike is stilll running, ill still be playing in the snow. That's can get pretty hairy on 2 wheels ... But most likely we'll prob have the buggy out pullin a couple sleds, or intertubes. We used trucks last year, so we're gonna find out if the buggy will pull it any better. You guys should try that, sled riding 50 to 60 mph on a tube behind a truck. Talk about some g force on the whips.. it's a lot of fun though.

Thinking about doing a complete teardown to the frame....again. Think I'm gonna go the powdercoat way this time. The frame for sure. Mods, mods, mods......don't think I'll be doing performance mods this winter, just maintenance. Probably could use a complete bearing and seal replacement. Maybe the crank bearing boss fix. Oh yeah, I've got a stainless allen head bolt kit to put on..500pcs and a DYNA rev limiter. Just piddle with it.

hmm.. the money that i dont have is supposed to be going towards college. but i might spend some on porting for the blaster which feels increasingly slower every time i ride it. an older sled would be pretty sweet too.
