I have been debating this with my 250. First off Im on alcohol which loves a large exhaust and everything else. So Im running lets say upwards of 195 exhaust duration with about a 61mm wide port on a 67.5mm cylinder. which is right at about a 90% width port. So follow me here it has been said that the reason a 300cc or so stock honda cylinder will not run effectively with a 300 prox setup due to port layout and insufficient flow out the exhaust compared to bore, no wing ports. Now all the honda jugs I have seen with a 90% width port eventually size or tip rings due to side load on the piston and the bigg ass port. Honda has a 72mm stroke while the suz is at 70mm. So the honda has more side load on the piston due to the stroke increase, thats my theory anyway. To clear it up then why stroke the motor out only to have to run a narrower port which will cut some power. It make me think that the best running combo for the suzuki would be a 270 with a drag port otherwise you are dumping money into something that may not run any better. More torque but less horsepower. So unless you are thinking of something drastic like welding up the jug and cutting sub ports then I would say the 250-70 range is optimum for a suzuki. Also there is the reliability issue, hell look at my intake, it has very litte metal left as it is.

going bigger isnt always the shizznit for power ,sure youll have more torque than a standard bore ,but lose revability and lack enough transfer size to flow a true big bore jug,i like the 250-270 idea and to stay reliable the exhaust width shouldnt be more than 75% of the bore unless bridged or otherwise you may experiance premature wear or snag, a stroker will add bottom and allow much higher exhaust timing something like a 200 degree would be nice with some really high compression add in some alky ,maybe some welded up transfers ,triple exhaust ports and auxilary boost ports added for bottom end punch, man im gettin a hard on

Well I may have spoke to soon. I recently talked to a guy who has a built LT on the west coast that is almost exactly what I have wanted to build for a while and wow it makes some serious Hp. 72mm resleeve and 4mm stroker with all the goodies to go with it in a drag frame and the dude is running like 4.5 in a 100. That puts him with good built 350 alky banshees. It would require a hell of a lot more money to build a motor such as this than a fast 270 but .5 in a 100 is a hell of a gain. Damn maybe I wont stop at 270 now that I know someone who beat me too it.

ever hear about the engine tuner down south who has built a 350 stock crank banshee that burns in 3.77 300 foot times? there are some people out there that
go above and beyond the other engine builders ability and create motors so damn quick it makes you wanna see the inside of the cylinder to get an idea what the hells goin on in there. personally i think its cool as hell to have a hopped up small bore smoke the bigger bores and make em shit themselves, ive got some projects like this in mind for the summer with a trick high compression ported blaster
