Default 300ex kx500/cr500

i have a old 300 ex and was wondering what motor wold e easier to put in a kx500 or cr500.........and what about starting it the kick satrt will it get into the way?????? and last the pipe.....can i just tuck it all under or what......the radiator i can prolly weld some tabs to hook it up so its okay well thanks in advance......btw first day with this site its really awesome

I would consider something bigger than a 300 ex for a 500cc engine. You would probably have a hard time keeping the front end on the ground and it might not be the most stable. If you are comfortable with the 300 ex, go for it.

The swaps I have seen didnt leave much room for a radiator. I think the 300ex chassis would be a handfull even with a 250 dirtbike engine. You have a choice of push starting or no rear fenders, and of course the exhaust is an issue with any swap. A-arms, swingarm length, and suspension are also going to need attention with all the new power...

well powerwise it seems alot like a blaster with a yz490 in it really.

so would a blaster fit a kx500 or cr500 better i saw a lot of blaster kx500 cr500 and quadzilla blaster threads

i dont know if it would fit it better....the 300ex is a bit bigger than the blaster...least i think it is

i would actually think a z400 would be better because it already has the radiator mounted up...but well any of the new 4 stroke frames would be good to put a 2 stroke powerplant into.

I think it depends on what your going to do with it. if your just going to drag race then the blaster or 300ex frame would be good cause they are small and light weight but everything will kinda be tight putting all together.

if your gonna do other kinds of riding then I'd use one of the bigger frames like the 400's. you got more room for the engine, pipe and radiators and a bigger quad is just easier to ride with the extra power you'll have
