| Sorry peeps I forgot to turn the email notification on. The carb took around 7 hours. When I get my spare jug on this motor I'm leaving it natural keeps it cooler. The 500 degree PJ1 paint is holding up well except where I got a drop of brake fluid on it. That bubbled it up I used the hi heat stuff (1200 degree) on another motor and didn't like the flat look of it. Flat paint looks nice untill it get dirty and then it looks like it's 100 years old...PB

| VHT makes the 1500 paint in many colors. You'll need to kinda bake it with heat since it includes a ceramic in it. Gas made the paint dull a bit but it didn't peel nor bubble. I was surprised brake fluid never damaged the finish. These are my pipes I'm talking about.

| Agreed. It's important no matter what you do to wipe down EVERYTHING with a wax/oil/grease remover before you spray. It really is the key to getting durability out of your fresh paint...PB

| I actually dig the flat black a bit better. Now a combo using gloss & flatt would look nice too. Add gloss to the case covers, I bet it would look really good!

| On the 400 I actually powdered the clutch cover to stop wear from my boots. FWIW heres the flat paint motor installed. It's pretty durable, it's 2 years old in this pic...PB ![]()
