well, heres the update on the project.

got home late saturday night (nov 17th) from our riding trip and found the parts waiting buy the door step. lol looked like christmas morining in the living room with all the package paper throwed everywere. Denny did amazing work on the cylinder. I checked it out all over and didnt see any flaws or anything on it. looked super clean inside and out. flywheel looked really clean aswell. shift star mod and stator plate mod looked good too. put everything together sunday morning and took it for a test drive. I was expecting for it to flat out haul like my 250r, but that wasnt the case. it did run a little better than before all the motor mods, but its still nothing close to being fast. so I talked with denny and he suggested messing the the ign. timing and reed spacer and jetting and see what that done. and it made it run worse after changing some of those. and thats when we both concluded that its the exhaust that is the problem. aparently, the cr125 expansion chamber is to small for even a stock ported motor, let alone a heavily ported one. its like trying to run a marathon, but breathing through a drinking straw. the exhaust is choking this beast down way way to much. so now theres 2 things I will end up having to do.

1. find/make a new expansion chamber/headpipe. I have a stock honda 250r pipe, aswell as a stock 86 LT250r pipe that I might cut up and try to use. im pretty sure either of those would make a worlds difference it in, but like matt said, for it to run at its full potential I'd need a actual aftermarket blaster pipe. which leads to my second point.

2. forget the whole idea with the trx250r chassis and find a dirt cheap blaster with maybe a blown motor or just a rollin chassis and put my motor in it and just build a badass blaster. if I do this, i'll be able to run a actual blaster pipe. and also i'll have the benefit of less weight and smaller size. then jsut throw some better suspension on it, wider a-arms and axle, and about a +3 swingarm and i'd be set for anything. i'd say this is probably what I will end up doing in the end and just scraping the idea of the "honda blaster".

I like the idea of a really fast Blaster. Having something fast that's not supposed to be would be the main attraction. Racing your buds 4 poke in the hillclimbing video would be cool.

The R frame would still be a lot stronger and lighter tho

well, I think the blaster frame/chassis is actually lighter than the trx frame. not sure on the strength part. ive had my fair share of issues on the frame on my 250r. I think though for hard trail riding i'd rather try the idea of a better suspended blaster chassis. cause I mean I still got my 250r as my main bike, but I could also try and make the blaster a good riding woods machine too.

but on the pipe issue, ive already started working on it. gonna use the stock lt250r pipe. already got it chopped up and trying to test fit it together. its gonna work pretty good, just alot of welding, fitting and grinding. should have it done by the weekend maybe. gonna be off work this thurs, fri, sat and sunday so I should have plenty of time to get it done. and cross your fingers that it happens to work good with the motor

no the R frame is still ligher, and bigger at the same time, and its deffently stronger, a blaster and a R both weigh the exact same stock and the R motor is alot heavier than the blasters obviously because of the rad

same here. now if I seen some actual proof then i'd be surpized. I believe that fastR of puppets is a 100% pure 250r junkie and will defend it to the grave. not saying theres anything wrong with that though lol.

comepare the wieght from the 88/89 modle to the blaster

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_TRX250R

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_...#Specification

and the motor weighs more on the R, the a arms, axel, and swingarm are all bigger on the R, so the frame must be lighter on the R
