well thats not entirely relevant though we must remember a blaster in stock form also has those 4 heavy ass heavy duty steel wheels instead of aluminum als o it uses a large heavy drum braking system ,doesnt look like it but the oem blaster exhaust feels like it must weigh 15 pounds ,all in all a blaster is going to be much lighter than a honda250R it is not uncommon for a drag blaster to weigh only a little over 200 pounds ,the 250r (once wet) and full of antifreeze and oil wit h the radiator and bigger arms swinger and such probably actually weighs closer to 340 or so

| on a side note the 8 inch shorter length wheelbase on a blaster chassy will make a muc h more intersting ride

| A Blaster chassis should be easy and inexpensive to find. Then you could do something else with the R frame, like stuff a CR500 motor in it. ![]()

| how the hell did they shed 25lbs between the 86 R and the 88 R? are the 86/87 swingarms steel? cause I got one that im gonna be putting on my 250r when ever I get some bearings for it. and are the 88-89 swingarms cast aluminum? I didnt ever know this??? but honestly, to realy see which frame is the lightest, someone needs to get a bare, bone stock blaster and 250r frame and weigh it with some sort of scales.

| even if they weighed the exact same ..the balance and weight transfer and more importantly the 8 inch shorter wheel base would be dramatic in itself

| well i'll jsut say that I more than likely will be finding a blaster chassis to put the motor in, sooner or later. but right now im going to finish making that new pipe from the stock LT250r expansion chamber. its gonna work pretty good, maybe the hardest part will be flaring out the spigot part from the blaster pipe to match up with the larger diameter LT pipe. I have a feeling im gonna see some sort of performance change with it cause the overall body of the pipe is much fatter than the 125 pipe. but i'll get some video of it in action when its done here soon, good or bad.

| I got the new pipe finished today and rode it around some. also advanced the timing back to +6 and leaned the jetting out to a 45 pilot and 145 main. this pipe is quieter and doesnt have that distinct "ping" echo when its at low rpms. but this pipe also unlocked a hair more power, but still no where close to what it should be. and its got a pretty weird powerband also, good amount of torque right off idle, hardly any kind of power in the midrange, and when you rev it out long enough you feel a small "hit" in the powerband and it starts pullin fairly good. but im gonna get some video tomorrow and yous guys can see what you think. but im still gonna go with findin a cheap blaster and put my motor in it. probably gonna park it for a while untill I find one. but I did find some pictures of how i'd like to make mine look. I think this blaster looks badass for a trail or cross country bike. and the front end makes it look like a little 250r sort of.
