its a 1994 yz250 motor..... and the quad wasnt opened up all the way as you can see in video

ill have to find out more... it was a custom build that Im trading for so I will update when I know more

I will add though that it tested 30 HP at the real wheel , not at the crank and its expected that you will lose 5-15 HP when testing rear wheel

the stock yz250 pushes something like 45hp at 9000 rpm, ... however what you do see tested at 30 at the rear wheel which would probably be around 40 at the crank, again the motor wasnt fully opened up from what I know , I will update as i learn more

also a stock yamaha blaster pushes the following at rear wheel
So even at worse case if im only pushing 30 at rear wheel with the 250 were talking a minimal gain of 10HP over the stock motor.... Id venture to say that most stock blasters are my breakfast lol

Yamaha Blaster --------------------> 20srwhp / 320lbs = 0.0625 horsepower per pound

testing a dirtbike versus the smae engine in a quad frame will be way different ...if i put a new 48 horse yZ 250 motor in a blaster frame and drive heavy dual tires rims compnents VIA through a heavy rear end, id expect about 35-40s on a rear wheel dyno ,but with right setup and engine work it could realistcily make a 45-50
.itl definitly be faster than any piped blaster but for al lof them dont be to sure ...a correctly worked over blaster engine with some money in it will do anything that that yz250 engine potentialy could and be lighter . an fmf pipe is one of the worst pipes you could use for making peak hp numbers,same reason when these guys put crotch rocket engines in quad frames they only hit 100 rwhp instead of 150
