I don't understand how a 125 motor will not work in a blaster chassis and an 85 will. It seems like it would. A lot of 90 mods use 85 motors. I would like to understand why the 125 would not work.

who ever said it wouldnt, they work fine, if you can fit a 250 motor in a blaster than ytou deffently can fit a 125

My question is not wherther it will fit but about the hp torque and gearing. I have read a few threads about using this motor. My son is ready for more power but is not ready for a 250 motor, and I just wanted a water cooled motor.

alright what do you want to know about the hp and gearing, its not gunna make any more power tahn a modded blaster motor, just get a ported and stroked 240

| with the right pipe and porting it can make 35 on gas and probably 40 on alky which is about where just a bolt on big bore airsal cylinder wit h the common cheesy unversal port would put you .

Eviltwin, so are you talking about the 125 or the Blaster? The 125 I have has the VF3, FMF gnarrly pipe and no porting. The blaster motor is plain stock. For the money which would be best to go with?

the blaster is going to be cheaper and if you really did go for it you could ultimatly make more power with it then possible with th 125

i was referring to a modern 125 engine ... the blaster big bore can make more torque and hp probably and realistcily around 50 rwhp on gas once highly modifed , as far as comparing a stock bore oem bore and stroke blaster to a 125 ,the out put would be close id say the blaster can make more usable power i n the end wit ha wider powerband but not as high an rpm obviously ...although the blaster engine wil l require extensive head and port work and top notch bolt ons to acheive this . -Denny

I like I have decieded to stay with the Blaster motor. I'm going to put a high comp. piston(have to bore cylinder)and a bigger carb. for now. what kind of porting would be best, eviltwin? is it better to bore first or port?
