Default Custom plastic

hey whats sup, i'm just up late and here are some of my thoughts.....
i'm listening to some and this face cracks me up

has any one here tried to paint their plastic before? not just spray painting ur plastic. but using somethign special to make paint stick to the plastic.... and then painting the the plastic with car paint..... I talked to the local paint guy in town, and asked him if they made any thing that would let paint stick to the 4wheeler plastics and give u a good finish... he told me that they did make that kind of product.... i was just wondering if any one has ever messed with that.....

the owner of my lt before me just sprayed some cr@py spraypaint on my hood and it's starting to look like sh*t up close... if those products work well i'd like to respray my hood with the paint that i'm going to get for my touch up work on my frame....

If the car paint on quad plastic idea does work out well i'd think about spraying a patch of blue on the tank plastic to make it have the same flowing lines as the zilla... i really like the way that the plastic colors flow in the zilla...

I found out a while back that maier makes two new hoods for the lt250r that i have never seen listed on any site or in any catalog......

Colored hood

carbon fiber hood

i'd like to see a quad with that hood sitting on it... it looks kinda neat but i don't know if i'd like a quad with that on it ir not.... ... if u could get ur frame painted looking like carbon u could have a pretty killer looking lt.... i just looked to see if they made the fenders in carbon fiber but they dont......

If i stray away from the classic suzuki colors i'm going to have to do something with the carbon fiber idea

if you paint the tank it will bubble like your crotch with genital warts, but seriously it WILL BUBBLE FROM THE VAPORS!!!! My decals on my oversized Clarke gas tank bubble from the vapors and I've seen painted gas tanks that were nothing but huge ripples.

I think painting your hood with special plastic paint will work but I wouldn't try it on fenders because of how they bend. The paint on the plastic probably won't bend with it. It will just crack and flake off.

My friend painted his fenders and plasits with plastic paint that he bought at a local auto store and it looked great to start, but now the fenders look like crap from getting hit with branches and having taken some beatings on the trails. The other parts he painted don't look too bad, but I would have to agree with the do not paint the fenders statement made earlier even if it is with paint specifically designed for plastic as paint does not flex.

Talking

I thought I was on the right track with that, but I haven't seen anyone that actually did it. Thanks for backing that one up with some proof.

Yeah it was really a shame, he spent a lot of time prepping the plastics and had it looking really nice just sitting there, then the first time out you could tell it wasn't going to last. Some areas are still in really great shape, his plastic by his lights and key, and the top of the 'grill'.

I wonder if painting it with good automotive paint would work better than the rattle can plastic paint?

You'd have to buy the special additive to make the paint flexible. Thats not a big deal though. With cars being mostly plastic anymore, I bet it would work pretty well. I bet an enamel designed to use without a clearcoat would work the best.
