look at the other bike the guy has 4 sale,I think the guy knows his shit, and knows how to build bikes.
Look, I'm not doubting his ability to build a hard running bike. I mean call me on this here, but I dont even think its possible with the crude port set up that these things had to even consider making 100hp. I honestly dont care if you hand this thing over to Dan Haul, its not gonna push 100hp without some kinda aftermarket cylinder (which is not available) and a stroker crank. even then it still may be a hard thing to acheive.

as far as weight goes let's put this in perspective

new yz250 with the aluminum frame is like 218 lbs... and puts out close to 51 hp. (rough estimate don't have the exact numbers on me)

the 100 lbs is an exageration but the thing is still a friggen boat anchor of a motor. solid steel, air cooled. ash tray for a piston. bad ass motor, but was never known for being Light

I wouldn't be surprised if your 250 engine weighs nearly as much as the 490... Air cooled engines are light... The 490 crank and rod is probably heavier, but there is no coolant, water pump, or exhaust valve gear.... it was the rest of the bike that made the 490 a boat anchor... and of course the reliabilty/ detonation issues...

ok i'm gonna go against this builders credibility...if I were to build a "100 hp" desert bike frame, i would probably want better footpegs then two pipes welded perpendicular to the frame...those might get a bit slippy

So maybe he bored out the cylinder until it was paper thin and shaved the head down so you need to run 120 octane leaded fuel. 100 unreliable horses and a power band as wide as the tip of a mosquito's cock.

Go look on CR500Riders.com. Not even those bikes are making 100hp.

You can paint up an old 490 nice nice, bling it out and talk up the motor, but in the end all you have is old technology that's getting hard to find parts for. Just like my CR480.

I bet this guy is selling on ebay because his craigslist posts have all gotten flagged for all the crap he spews forth about the bike.
