| I want the better handling of a newer quad but a 2 stroke motor. I know this has been done with hondas many times but I would like to stick with Suzuki platform. Has anyone put a LT250R motor in a Z400. What would need to be done other than motor mounts? Whould the exhaust fit? whould it need any frame mods? Thanks! |

| Yeah I have seen a few 500 swaps. The 500 is more than I need. I do a lot of woods riding. not to mention 500s are mega loud |

| The z400 frame seems to have a little too much weight on it, however if you were to fit a 250 engine into it you could cut alot of pieces out that you would not need.

| well how about this, i have a full dvx with working (z400) motor, that is no good, it has a screwed frame and is useless. my friend has 2 lt250r's one without a serial number, i may buy that one off of him, its pretty well toast, and i can get everyything but a motor for $300, how much ass would a lt250r haul with a z400 motor? it would already be lighter than z400 plus, i could completely gut it not use an airbox, and it would handle a hell of a lot better. i want to paint the frame black, black maier plastics, my dvx already has gas resevoir shocks, fatbars, and hmf full exhaust. plus im just wanting this atv for racing only, so no elecrtical but the electric start, im more focused on light low and wide. and i only have to keep up in the b-class so i should be fine. is this a good idea? and i know your all 2 stroke die hards but i mean so am i but you gotta admit a well tuned z400, can put out some ponies too.

| Depending on year I'd just say fix up the LT motor, it would pull harder than a modded DVX would. But then again I'm a 2 stroke guy.

| The LT chassis is outdated(although it has its advantages)... and The z-400 engines kinda suck... The the 2-stroke DVX would be my choice |

| with a good axle, a-arms, shocks combination the LT isnt that bad. But yea the DVX with the LT would be my first choice, then my second would just be moddify the quadracer.

| lol just get an R, it will still have a 2 stroke motor, it will handle better than a 400, and you wont have to do all the work you would wiht the hybrid |

| ya i know but i mean an lt totally lacks in bottom end, and seriously, it is an absolute pain in the ass to keep the revs up and power shift all of the time on a quad, its way more user friendly with a 400, it has a much wider powerband you can hold through the corners. i can beat a stock 250 the way it is in a 400 frame, and an lt chassis would handle way better and be alot lighter than a dvx frame, i would put all of my suspension off my dvx on it and i think it would be awesome. i wnt to know if anyone has done anything like this before? has any of you guys come accross anything like this?
