| I sure hear of alot of hot 82-83 atcs but never seen one run for crap. Everybody in my area is scared of the atc, and those who arent dont touch anything other than 85-86 atc. I had an 82 once, called it bertha bike, crap suspension, crap forks, crap motor, ate my lunch a few times too. Once I got my 85 I never looked back. I would be interested in who has these 82s setup for race or drag just to see what they did about the stock crap.

| well.. when your goign that far into one.... especailly when these guys are doign cr500 swaps.. you have to changes everything..... an 81-84R have the sprocket on the clutch side not the stator side... so you need a custom swinger, brakes, and axle carrier... then an axle form something else.. (most likely a later R style) also if i'm nto mistaken a set of 85-86 ATC forks and trees fit the earlier models... that would fix your problems.... BUT I HEAR DRAG TRI-Z'S ARE FAST!!!!!! |

| who is this ronnie guy??? and do you have pics of his tri-Z.. i know chainsaws Z was running a 425cc stroker and was posting low 5's high 4's.. but he has since cold teh 425 stroker engine..... and as soon as i get my Z out i'll find out just how fast it is... it;s a YZ250 with teh powervavle shimed all the way open... it was built for a micro sprint race car... very very ported.... and the head has been milled alot...... i gotta get the shearer drag pipe for mine still |
