First of has anyone ever done this ahah , i baught a blaster off of buddy for 200$ , he was riding it one day and the thing lost fire , so i baught it like it , needs 2 front wheel bearings, break cable, and well a running engine , i hauled the engine apart and the crank is twisted , and there looks like wear on hte stater as well, so i want to mod it out a bit, and im thinking of a suzuki gt250 engine, its a twin cylinder,2 stroke, that supposedly makes 31 hp at the crank , and i figure with a set of expanshion chambers and a bit of work i can get close to 40 for sure, but i want to know how hard it would be to do, then engine isnt even to big itself, i know were to get one minus the carbs, supposed to be running, so im just wondering prety much would it be worth doing, and i should be able to make enough parting the blaster engine to cover hte cost of the motor and possibly even the bike. so give me some input , and if anyone ever done this, post a pic or vid.
It seems like it always comes down to the pipe, if you dont have the proper pipe for that engine (Expansion Diameter, Cone & Total Legnth) then it will not run right. Most likely it wont get into the upper RPM's. Also is this a counterbalanced engine, if not it will rattle your mind off!!! If you have most of the blaster engine there, I would reccomend rebuilding that. You could get almost that amount of horsepower out of a properly built engine. Plus in the future if you want to modd that twin, it will be twice the hassle with two cylinders. This is just my opinion though, Im sure it could be done. Good Luck

id rather a modded bike , plus the gt250 didnt use expansion chambers for some reason , prolly cause its a motorcylce engine, but it isnt my main bike ,i ride dirtbike , just wanted to buiild the quad for tearin around on in the nite, also i can get hte gt250 motor for about 250$ to my door, the blaster is goin to need crank bearings/seals/crank trued, and possibly a stator , plus a gasket kit to put it backtogether.
I am telling you right now, you cannot do that engie swap for less than the price of a new rod kit, crank bearings/seals, & topend if you need it. Swaps get fairly pricy....I know this from experience, I did the same thhing as you only with a Tri-z engine. Your choice ultimatly...

Ok well what about a yamaha 250 air fooler, i think its an it ? or a dt or sumthing along those lines, how hard would that be to put in , im after doing engine swaps before in bikes and sleds, would the blaster carb and cdi work with the 250?
seriously man... if you want it to rip get a bigger carb the blaster carb is like 26mm wit TORS so that mean it be cutting back on your throttle get a 34mm and swap engines if you still gonna do it, but no blaster carb cuz its just too small and find a real good pipe. then you can rip!!!!
the gt is a parallel twin it doesnt need a counterbalancer ,its like the banshee in this way ,when ones up the others down. the slowzuki is not the best idea the yare really archaic in design ,id mod the blaster engine instead ,plus you will never find a good exhaust unless tis custom made by a an actual pipe designer who uses software and dynometer testing
I dont mean to sound saucy so dont take it the wrong way, but i dont want to mod the blaster motor , it still wouldnt realy be a mod quad, would the gt fit in the frame or would it be to wide, ive searched up and down for a yz250 engine , but i cant find one around me.
