Well, if that is true and it is not a 250r motor than I am out. I really want a damn 250r, but the $$$ on them around here is stupid high. I might still go take a look at it, is there a "telltale" mark that I shoul look for that makes it an R motor?

well it is a "250" but not like the 250r liquid cooled motors. that is from the early 80's honda 250r trikes. but they are known to be pretty stong motors aswell. yea i'd say go and test ride it and look it all over real good for any problems that might catch your eye. just take your time and look at everything you can.

Double check those motor mounts. The one near the swingarm looks very flimsy. Also, are parts still available for that motor?

I noticed that the motor is pretty far forward of the swing arm pivot bolt, this will cause chain slack in a bad way when the suspension compreses, thats the only fault I spy in this, just to be clear the swing arm pivot bolt does NOT disect the motor on a atc250R air cooled motor, so its correct just seems to far away from it.

those motors can be potent for around 600 dollars and with a bit of searching you can score you a rebuilt 300 hondaline top end for it, they are tourqe monstors, with almost tractor like tourqe!

awesome trail rig, as there isnt much worry about over heating.

It looks like a clean build, dont doubt those old air cooled 250s, ask 1upfront. Id go for it just because its different, and boy would someone on a 400ex be confused when you just run past him lol

Is that engine counter balanced? I would look into that. Im sure it wouldnt be as bad as the 500cc monsters, but still....
