Took em this evening, thought you guys might enjoy them. I started building this back around December, got it "together" for the March SFTL/SDTA race over at Crossroads Motorplex. I was up till about 4:00AM that race morning in the shop working on it and rode/raced it that evening without any major issues, but I puttered around mostly to be safe since it was all new. Still tweakin on it and making adjustments and changes to stuff here and there.

Haven't got to paint the bottom of the frame yet where I welded in the new engine cradle. Need to be getting to that but I'd like to have something that matches well and thats been pretty hard. Powdercoat sometime, no idea when haha. I need scoops and a new # plate for it (sykolincoln's gonna hook me up with that I think, hes da man.) I mangled mine at a race at Thunderbowl last season when it was still a 250R. Went the entire season and never had a single get-off, and then ate it twice in one night :-\ Get those on there and I think it'll be pretty sharp.

Nice man, how does that short little kicker work for you? What's the top speed with 15/36 gearing? 300 m.p.h.? I use 12/39 on mine, although I am considering going to 13/39.

It works, not real well, but it works. Typically, starting a CR500 even with the original long kickers, and everything tuned perfectly, is something like kick kick kick kick common you mf'er kick kick kick huff huff huff kick kick ah you piece of crap BRRRAAAAAAAAAAP! In otherwords, it hardly ever starts when you want it to, and by the time your huffin and puffin out of breath and ready to give up, it cranks up. As a rule of thumb at the last race, I started trying to crank one full moto before I needed to be in the grid, and by the time I got the thing running it was just about time to get on the track. I even modified the piston to lower the compression ratio, and that helped, but didn't make enough difference. A lot of guys install de-compression valves in either the cylinder or the head. I might end up doing that eventually but just not interested in doing that at this point in time.

I don't know what the top speed is with the 15/36 gearing but I was running the Cross Roads track in 2nd and 3rd gears only if I remember right. You could have MAYBE used 4th if you were wanting to be real ballsy but I dunno, it'd be iffy. Theres a race on the 17th in Ocala on a 3/8 mile stock car track, Hopefully someone has a radar gun cause I'm gonna try and open it on up

Thanks man. My dad has showed me a lot of tips and tricks on fab work, but most of it is self taught. The biggest thing is to not get in a hurry, and if you do make a mistake try and fix it to the best of your capabilities. The pipe, really wasn't that hard. I might make another sometime soon as that one was a little bit on the crude side (first one I ever made) if I do, I'll make a pretty good tutorial on it with lots of pictures and commentary, probably post it here for anyones information.
