Talking YZ125 Blaster!!

I think it would be awesome to put a YZ125 engine in a blaster frame. Some people say the tranny wont hold ,but i think different.
Find cheap blaster, get yz125 motor, have it bumped up like a cheater motocross bike and walla.wide open or slow goin, hehehe

use a YZ250 engine. i saw an old article on a yz250 powered blaster on mac dizzy.com a while back looked like a hell of a ride. well i think a yz490 would also do the trick. wil somebody please do teh 490 swap on a blaster already. i just wanna see one done and how the exhaust was fabbed out. someday i wanna build a banshee killing blaster

i used to go to Mac Dizzy all the time. There was a thread in there called ideas.I came up with the idea of using other materials besides aluminum for the clutch basket.Basically for trail riders who want durability over lightness. It ended up someone makeing inserts to go on the edges of the clutch tangs.Oh well!
I have downloaded all the stuff on the bleaster from there.
I would love to ride the yz250 blaster i bet it hauls.I just think a 125 motor would mork well to,maybe not for trails but motocrossing!
If you got a pocket full of money a wr500 motor would kick ass in a blaster, would be a shame to tear up a WR500 though!!!!

yz490 think about it!!! and scott has one for sale. i'm not sure that a YZ125 would have enough to push a blaster??? might though. seems liek a blaster might be a littel heavy for the clutch but if you beefed up the clutch i think it might work. oh yeah peopel saying it would tear up the trans are wrong i think. you'll always trash a clutch before you start trashing gears

I have been trying to get my buddy who has a blaster to put a 125 motor in it for about a year now. I think the 125 would be great for the blaster. It couldnt be worse, it has twice the HP. Just gear it right and I think that thing would rip pretty good. You would definately want to beef up the clutch.

Yeh i agree those motors would be fun, but think about either a Kx 500 engine or the 750 trip. motor... It's still in progress, jus need to fab the pipes, and she will be ready to fly.
I posted some pics of the 750 trip motor in the blaster frame under blaster so when they get approved they will be there.

smaller rear tires on blaster than dirtbike...It would be geared lower with less top speed because of smaller tire diameter.a lot of people tell me it aint worth trying, but i will someday just for the hell of it!
It's just an idea....
490 in a blaster would be a monster..I have rode a few, only 4 gears.I think a 81 yz465 motor would be more reliable as i have seen many blown 490's without the proper head work done. It's only my opinion though.

whoa there jr. you don't wanna be telling him to put a 4 poke in a 2 stroke frame. i don't care if you think a craptor is fast or not they don;t belong in a 2 stroke chassis. oh and for the record craptors are slow, top heavy, unstable, and did i mention JUNK!!!!
