Default CR500/KX500 Quad

Hey is it a good idea to stuff one of these or any BIG two stroke bike engine in a quad. Ive always been into the Trx500R deal but all I ever heard was they are crap cuz the frames crack and such from the vibrations. Well is there anything out there to solve thise other then rubber mounts. Also anyone have any long term experience with a quad like this. I think a Cr500 in a R or 400EX frame or something would be a good project and a wicked fast trail bike.

a 400ex frame might be too short making it want to wheelie a lot. im not sure about this but itd be the nicest bikeyou could always extend the swingarm by like 2 inches. but go with the cr500!

CR500 in a LT250R frame isn't too bad of a project. The rear engine mount lines up good and only requires a couple spacers. You'll need to weld-in a headstay mount, and fab up some lower motor mounts. The front mount mounts line up pretty good if you flip the mounts. I speak from experience. It doesn't vibrate that bad. Mine had a balanced crank in it. It was an '85 frame - 87 & up is a little different but should be just as easy.

You'll want a good suspension to back up the power of the motor.
