I'll try and get some pics on this week, although it won't look too impressive....all of the plastics are off as I was just experimenting with the steering stem and finished refabbing it....but those of you who know what to look for will see it's done right.

| Do you have the crank balanced...a buddy of mine had the crank balanced even tho it costed around 650.00 it made the vibration in his barely noticeable...Have you had it done yet? Let me know thanks Andy

You know you might need to pull that crank & have it checked for true. We had a guy that raced with us running a TRX CR500 & I dont remember his viberating any worse than my son TRX250R with the balancer cut down. On a 250R when the balancer shaft has been cut & you rev the engine, the front end will squat down about 4"s & then come back up as the engine slows down, wild looking. Neil

yup, thanks guys, it looks like i'm going that route. I talked to Crankworks and Falican and they both said balancing the crank would make a big difference. So tomorrow I'm yanking the motor and dropping it off at JRD (JRD Racing which happens to be my local shop too) to send to Rage Machine. Rage is the engine builder making the most insane power out of the new 450s, (he's building John Natalie's motors this year), he has an in-house dyno and really knows his stuff. Not only is he going to send the crank out (probably to Falicans) but he's going all out on the motor, portwork, top-end and whatever else it needs. He's done the CR500 motor in the past for others, mostly drag racers, and says when he's done with mine it'll be making over 70hp at the wheels, along with a huge difference in the vibration. Nothing like killing to birds with one stone ....I just hope I can hold on......I'll keep you guys posted.

I dont want to knock your builder but I honestly really doubt that motor is going to make 70hp. Now there probably are a few that have done it but its very very hard to squeeze that kinda hp out of the CR500 motor. By very hard I mean a custom drag pipe specially for the very very aggresive porting and the alky your going to have to run. Now by all means if he proves me wrong you can come show it to me but just going off everything I have read about CR500 motors from the some of the top builders is that most hard running CR's make around mid 60's. They just dont pull the rpm to make the hp. They make great torque just not the hp. You might talk to Nate at McCoys Performance, he is one of the guys with the most CR500 experience around. Falicon and Crankworks are both good places to send the crank though.

well, i sorta agree, that's what i thought too, but supposedly this guy has a reputation, he's an ex-airfoce engineer and he's built these motors in the past and has dyno proven them. Despite what "other" builders may claim, he is one of the top builder's of the 450s (I've SEEN his bikes pull away side by side on some of the OTHER top builders in the country....there's a reason Natalie switched) so he's got me sold. He's doing something right even if it doesn't make that much power. I just want my frikin vibration gone....and while he's in there why not make more hp? I'm am going to try to get him to dyno it though....

well i was going to post pics of the bike for those who asked to see it....but how the hell do you put in pics here?

have you tried those handlebars with the rubber inserts. sh!t i forget the name. but they have these little rubber noby things that go in the handlebars that cut down vibration. i think...
