490 Blaster

i want to built a kick ass Yamaha competitor for the TRX500. My buddy told me that a YZ490 will fit perfectly on a blaster frame. Ive never heard of a 490 but:

1) Is there such a bike?
2) whats the biggest cc engine for a bike yamaha made?
3) will it stack up against a TRX500?

the enginr from what i heard on the site is kinda a pain in the ass. it will move just a big bulky engine though

The yz490s fit into the blaster frame pretty well from what I understand, and they're air cooled so no radiators to mount. I think someone on this site has a 490 blaster. As far as beating a trx500, i have no idea. I have heard that the 490's have detonation problems.

the yz 490s fit really well into the blaster frame. but i heard the same thing about them having detonation problems.

memebr Kane has one and a few others on here , the head /dome design on the 490 is prone to detonate but theres some easy cheap fixes also

good news is that i found the engine...for 600 bucks tho and it needs rebuilt.

it is a awsome project do u have any pic of how it came out .if you put rubber between the moter mounts and the engine it doesent viberate to bad.
