 introducing myself Hello Folks, New to the forum. Lots of good info being exchanged here! I live in Colorado in beautiful Leadville, which is the highest incorporated town in the US  I ride a 2006 Yammie FZ6, a 2000 Honda XR650R (street legalized) and a 1986 CR250R, which I used to race outdoor amateur in district 7 (#404) when I lived back east.I plan on racing the old fat guy 250 class in Lakewood, CO this year, and need to rebuild the ol CR. A question I would have for the group is, does anyone know a *reputable* shop I can send my cylinder and crank to? I rebuilt the motor over 10 years ago, and have no idea who I sent that stuff to back then. I can find shops that do the work, and maybe any of em will do, I was just looking for opinions. Thanks for the input yall! Maybe I'll see some of ya at Lakewood      |

| Here she is, in all her off road clothes. I've been riding this thing off road since I stopped racing it in the early 90s. Sorry for the poor quality but today is the day my camera decided it needed to be thrown in the freakin trash. I included a closeup of the bore and the piston cuz I just simply can't believe how good it looks. You'll probably not be able to tell but that motor's been through hell. Two seasons of amateur racing, two trips to Moab with some hard core idiots I know, and countless trips playriding. I am just amazed at how good it looks. The bottom end feels just as tight as when I put it in over a decade ago too! Man I love Hondas.  |
