| No offense taken. I am not fat, I am just a big guy. I am looking at a few 426's over the next few days. I would like to get a 450 but have been told I won't really notice the difference between the 2 with the type of riding I am going to be doing. 426's can be had for 1/2 the price of a 450 so that is another reason i am going that route.

| The 426 is a fairly top heavy bike. They are a bitch to start because they dont have auto decompression. They do haul pretty good, but a yz 250 2 stroke with a smaller front sprocket and a larger back will take you up anything.

| You can put a 450 exhaust cam in a 426 to gain the auto decompression. It's a common mod. I did it to my 2002 426 when I had it. And yes they are top heavy bikes.

| A buddy of mine has the 426, its a baddy ass bike, i cant argue with that, very fast and has power right now...but they did only make them for 2 years, so that might be something to consider, his is also kinda hard to start sometimes also, but i would think it would be a great bike for the mountains and stuff like that. Even though i am a 2-stroker till i die i think the thumper is going to be better for you, but a yz250 just so u know will also take you up anything the 426 or 450 will, and will be easier to fix, easier to start, and cheaper to repair, just some things to think about.

| Well now I have more of a reason for the 4 stroke. Looks like I may be getting a WR 426 or 450 to commute back and forth to work. Fuel is getting rediculous and I see no sense in putting useless miles on my truck.

lol im going to suggest the yz 450f due to your weight no offense and the elevation changes your going to have with mountain riding but if u still want to go 2 stroke u could get a yz 490 or cr/kx 500 that would solve your power problem
