| maybe a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway, I've been looking through all of ebay hunting for pistons to my KX and CR and are curious on what people rate as the best piston overall, Namura tech Or the classic wiseco? give some facts on why you choose your brand.

| ive got a set of namura's in the garage that are cracked in the middle of the port windows. and yes, that is both pistons that came out of the same motor at the same time. the only mods that bike had was pipes and air filter. so there was no real undo stress on them, no reason for them to do that other than they are pure junk. jmo.

| Namura pistons make engine go boom boom... and maybe clank clank clank... and definately grrrriiinnnnd. Wiesco pistons are flat-out great. They wear so much nicer than the namura, when they do give up, just bore it out a little. You just replace piston. Not the entire jug, and possibly bottom end like the namura.

| Damn, Namura are a unknown brand here in norway where I hail from, gotta stay away from those then. but what about those teflon-coated Vertex pistons? don't know if they are still being made, but I've been using those in my KX for years now without problems, got a kit of Wiseco pro-lite going in next though...

| I prefer and only run Wiseco in my bikes. My buddies banshee was rebuilt with Namura slugs and it has about 25 hours without any issues. But I do have a complete topend gasket kit and might just open her up and see what those slugs look like. The banshee has been run hard to out in the sand. |
