Question Question about a flywheel weight????

I've got a 99 CR125 and of course it lacks bottom end like they all do. Can I counter act this with a flywheel weight? Mine is not stock and has a pipe, it's jetted, has a K&N, it's ported for mid to top, etc.... It runs harder up top than a 250. I can woop my friend's modified husky 250 and my other friend's kx 250 with the usual mods in a drag or on the track. It will haul it, but on a tight course you have to stay in the throttle and keep it reved. What size weight would you use? Thanks!

It won't give you anymore torque.
It will help to keep you motor from stalling at a low rpm.

Oh! I was always told that they increase torque and take a tad from the top. My bike stall a sec, if you take off from idle. Should I increase the idle or add a weight?

If it's cutting off when your just sitting then try turning up the idle a tad.
If your having problems with it stalling at low rpms while your riding then a weight would help. This is assuming you don't have other problems and your an experienced rider.
CR500 people add weights to their flywheels to make their bikes more woods friendly.

I have no problem at all riding it. It idles fine and it doesn't really stall in a way. It rolls out and then it's like HOLD THE F*** ON! Maybe the porting has something to do with it. It has been rejetted by a pro. My Buddy on his modded Husky CR250 got two links out of the hole, but then I flew right by him! It only does it from a dead stop when you smack it.

That's what I thought myself. I understand the principle of adding weight to a moving wheel can create a harder foreward motion, but it can also slow the motion, too.

If you lighten it, it will rev faster thus creating more torque.

lightening frees up the torque you were using to turn the heavier flywheel.
It still doesn't add torque just lets you use a lil more of what you already have.
