| yo u could build a pretty quick machine for fairly cheap but its gonna boil down to how competive the other racers machines are and your available budget . 75 rear wheel hp might be a blast but if ever body else has 90+ and runs trick drag frames theres no point in it, id get a 4mill stroker or atleast run methanol or alky on the stock stroke cylinders . the most importaqnt factors i n the engine department are the porting, the pipes ,the head . engine wise yo uprobably wont have a compettive full tilt setup unless yo u spend atleast 1,800 (clutch, intake ,carbs, filters, reeds igintion, shift mods, high compression head )and thats not including the shearer pipes, perosnaly i would look at RDZ racing but shearers are also excellent ,I wouldnt use CPI .chassy id look at blaster or 300ex front shocks, homamde strut in the rear and lighten the stock frame alot by cutting and grinding and a mountain of elbow grease ,yo ucan get one down to like 25lbs from the 46 ,light tire/rim combo that hooks hard ,tall gearing with plenty of punch to pull it yo u wanna be low and narrow and light .i would run an exotic fuel blend to get the most of out it like alky or meth ebay usually hasd good deals on modifed drag carbs and extended swingers

| well, the competition part is not really important to me since I dont actually know of any place around here that has dirt drags setup and and has sceduled races or anything. although if I did find a place to race at i'd deffinatly have me a quad built thats for sure. but I just made this topic to maybe get an idea of how to set one up, what parts and stuff to go with, etc. and I dont think i'd want to go all out and run alky or methanol since I dont think I could even get any of that around here that I know of. I'd rather just keep it simple and basic with just a ported long rod stroker motor with bigger carbs and a good exhaust. I mean Im pretty sure that would be faster than anything around here, except for a better built banshee of course. and around here you mention the the word banshee and people are like, "huh, a banshee!?" there is just not hardly anybody that rides or messes with em that I know of. all the 450s are takin over and 2 strokes are goin down in numbers here. every once in awhile I see a guy with a nice 250r in his truck or somein, or maybe some boy with a blaster, but thats pretty much it.

| well aproperly ported 4mill set of stock cylinders with shearer small bore inframes and dual 33 pwks K&Ns and vforce3 reeds with 19cc domes and +4 timing would pack plenty of punch and still have a wide usable powerband and it would not look remotely intimadtaing..... no one would know , till its too late

| there are a good amount of 2 strokes around here and there are alot of people i work with that own em too, i am wanting to get this piston/sleeve kit on ebay for like 500 bucks i think, n e ways it makes it a 409cc and if i did get it evil twin was suggesting that id get a 4mm crank, 32mm keihins, clamp on k&n's, porting, shear or cpi small bore pipes, should make some good hp, i was gonna do it for riding dunes and drag racing, you can look at that setup man it seems good to me, im considering it

| the stroker crank really makes a big difference ,the big bore viper sleeves would be badass too ,just gotta make sure they get ported to get the most out of them ,alot of people dont like the idea of the big bore sleeves ,and for the most part t have good reasons why but if they go under the knife(and get the viper sleeves) theres some really good potential

motorsport.com has a stroker crank kit that comes with a +5mm longer rod +4mm stroker crankshaft, special gasket kit, and special stroker pistons for $800. i'd say if you found a locked up motor for dirt cheap then this kit would probably be the best bang for the buck I guess, if you were planin on doing a build up like this.
