Finally got to run at a timed event

Well, I got a chance to run at tri county this past weekend. Found out a few interesting things.

1. The zilla is pretty quick, even with my big ass on it.lol I got 3rd in the open class. I think I would have won it if I had a larger fuel bowl and I wasnt so rich. Im running dry about 70ft before the line. I lost to a 421 cub at the end of the track by about a quad length. He tripped the lights at 74mph I was only doing 58 cause I was coasting for 70 ft lol. Tri county is a slow track thats for sure. No one there ran in the 6's. My best time was a 7.247. Best time of the night was 7.134 I think. There was a extremly fast honda 450 there. It really surprised me. He was running a tt tire that was grooved and he got such good bite. I was side to side the last half track everytime with my ohtzu's. Never thought tires like that would hook so well

Its funny I didnt burn it up on the meth. Its still so rich that when it goes dry it just cuts out, doesnt get hot. At Quadfest I was running a .114 main. I have a .103 in it now and its still too rich to even open the powerjet. I dont get it. I thought for sure Id be getting close by now. Pulled the head and everything still looks A OK

a low 7 is respectable at tri county ... what is your compression at and wha t reeds /intake are you running jim ?

Well its around 190psi on stock wore out 2mm gap reeds and cage lol. Its getting tough to start lol. Which Im sure has something to do with my jetting issues. I'll be ordering a set of V2's from tudors since Im sure Q wont sell em to me lol.

remember I was having issues with timing, well I got a new drum of meth, which I got for 205 bucks for 55 gal by the way, and after the weekend I looked at the plug. Looks like I can go back up on the timing a bit. I dont know why but with the other fuel I had it ran hotter. The plug was also pretty much colorless on the base and first couple threads, no signs of even being close on the jetting.

Denny, you think I might just not be getting enough spark out of the factory ignition to ignite all the fuel? Maybe I should start looking for a pvl

id get a Nology profire Kit form rjatv ..it sounds like its doing exactly what your thinking ,cause on alky it wont foul the plug itll just blow it out the exhaust pipe , if its not burning it correctly
