Nitrojunkie's Banshee
Banshee
01-08-2006

We picked Nitrojunkie's 2001 Banshee as a featured 2-stroke because of the great job he did building this bike up from scratch. For his hard work Nitrojunkie's is getting to be a Supporting member of E2S for 1 year. Here is his description of his banshee.

Quote:
I bought my 2001 Banshee 2 years ago used for $2100 it was bone stock nothing was wrong with it except for the fact that it was stock which was fine with me at the time, untill I made my first trip to the L.A. Sand dunes here in Louisiana where I live.I lined up with all the other drag bikes and discovered what it felt like to get sprayed with sand. After two days of this I came home and imediatly threw the bike in the shop.I took it to a place called L.A. Cycles where a man named Corey was to begin the transformation of my bike as it stands today.I told him I was on a budget of $1,400 little did I know how easy it would be to go way over that budget.First thing was the frame was twisted and looked as though someone tried to heat it up and get it back as close as possible,we took no chances and obtained a new frame for the bike which he lighted and cut all unnecessary parts. The A-arms,stering stem and foot pegs were sent off for chroming. The entire motor was disasembled a 4mm HotRods crank was droped in with new pistons a fresh bore and a full drag port.New clutches along with a Pro Design Timing Advance plate set to
+5.I choose 35mm Keihins to fuel the beast with V-Force Delta 3s and K&N
filters. And I must say that the best improvement dollar for dollar that was done to this bike was the addition of a NOLOGY coil and HOT wires. Some of the other additions are CPI drag pipes,+8 Swing arm,Moose Thumb Throttle,JJ&J drag axle,Billet head lights and as you can see lots of other chrome and billet parts!! Im guessing that maybe 7 or 8 thousand was invested I could add it all up but I dont want to know the truth!

Id like to thank all the people at Everything2stroke,because once my bike was built it was up to me to fine tune it which I have no clue of this kind of work.I was able to get my bike jetted and I learned a lot of things from posting on this site. And nobody ever talks down on you for not knowing something about quads. All the information I have recieved from this site was close as someone actually being there with you working on your bike!
We are Glad to have Nitrojunkie on E2S. We are always looking for new Featured 2-stroke so submit your pictures somewhere on the site and we will find you.

very nice bike, it would be even nicer knowning that you put it together yourself, but you didn't.
building from scratch is when you start with a few parts not a entire bike then take it in to have someone else build it. but i'm not ragging on you!!!! you have a extremely nice shee......

I agree with you completly about building it yourself. At the time though I coulndnt even tell you what a 4mm crank was or what the hell was v force reeds, basically Im not mechanically inclined. But ever since I got into this sport Ive been doing anything I can to get some hands on experience and now I do realize your point because there is a lot more pride and self satisfaction when you put your own time and thoughts into a project.Currently I am starting on a Cub motor that will go to a seperate bike and I am going to do everything I can supervised under one of my friends
