Default flatrack motors

just interested i what people are running for flatrack setups. 1/8th mile oval track.
motor kits, pistons, pipes, how much is to much power to get traction, i have been having a major traction problem on the flattrack with my banshee.

anywhere from stocker shee stuff. . . to port and head work with bigger carbs. . . to stroker bikes. ...

i know passionracingengines does a 12port stroker bike that alot of guys have used and won flattrack racing with. . .

at www.passionracingengines.com there are testimonials and stuff. . .

for the record i'm a little biased but. . . i have seen one in action quite a bit. . .

A 4mill crank would be nice to add some torque to the motor. A good port setup with a 4mm would be a good way to go for Track in my opinion.

I knew that it was. I dont think the 12 port is worth the money it costs. I know other people will see it differently but thats my opinion. Unless you can tig and port it yourself I just cannot see spending that much money on a stock cylinder setup. Any good normal port layout will produce a good smooth power with a stroker crank and work fine for a lot less money. I know cubs are not a low end motor but for the price difference you could almost have the cubs decked down some to lower the port durations and help the low end power out. Im not trying to bash Jims 12 port here before anyone gets all hot in the pants, I think its a fine motor setup, probably the best performing option for a setup such as this. Just not worth the extra money in my opinion, actually I like the 4mm cheetah. The hp isnt as high but the motor has some balls and a lot more potential than the stock cylinders.

I wouldnt go bigger than 34pj's unless your drag racing. They are pretty good all the way around. If you want to gain some torque cheaper I would pick up a set of used 34pj's converted to alky. That will gain you power all the way through. You can normally pick them up for less than 300 used. You could talk to Jim, he might cut you a price on changing your porting thats pretty afordable. I would say either of those are your next step.
