Yeah, smoother power will make it easier. You can also use your clutch to help get the bike up. You should be able to use 2nd on a 125. I use to use 3rd on my 250.

for my bike 4th is the easiest gear to wheelie in.. smooth power, and it's a long gear.... just find balance, and then lean back a little farther and squish the rear suspension and give it more gas and then shift back to your starting spot when the front end comes up

try leaning back more also slide your butt to back of seat and use your knees to lean bike for balance and be ready to pull clutch to glide speed down or let throttle loose and for emergency hit rear break or buy the how to wheelie gyro wheely helper in that web site I gave ya earlier in this post

One thing that helped me to get comfortable with the balance point was to sit on the quad/trike and have a friend pick up the front until it started to balance. I got comfortable with the position and then went from there and practiced. My 350x was a wheelie machine... It would be a little harder to do that on a bike.

The main thing you need is practice... I doubt there is a person alive that just jumped on something for the first time ever and started riding crazy wheelies. After alot of practice you'll get the other part you need, confidence.

There are alot of techniques and stratagies in riding a long controlled wheelie. Everything in this thread is correct and useful. Check out my tips in the quad forum. Hills are the best place to start getting the hang of it. I started riding wheelies up hills before I figured out how to ride through all the gears. You'll go through some rear fenders.

Sounds like your on your way to being a pro!....

I think I need to clarify that practicing on a hill is just for first or second gear. Don't try to shift in the air on a hill, because you lose speed too fast while shifting and it makes it very difficult....

When I first started shifting from first to second, I left the front end a little low so that I wouldn't flip. After I got use to shifting in the air, I gradually started bringing the front end up a little higher. Good luck!
