I built this ramp about 6 years ago with some free plans off the web. And Ive recently changed some things. I want to add more of a kick to it and im not quite sure if the transision is the right angle. Need some ramp builders opinons. I used a plasma cutter to cut the angle and the center supports to allow the new bend, I sorta think theres a flat spot. Im wondering if the top portion of the ramp needs more angle. What do you guys think>?? Thanks Last edited by highroller; 02-24-2008 at 03:19 AM.

yeah well those tires stay on. I just prop some blocking under the frame and on top of the leaf springs to keep it from flexing. I agree on the top portion of the lip. I feel like it needs more of a angle.

yep! my thoughts exactly... the springs will compress unevenly during the transition... the pop will be a bit weird... by unevenly i mean, a little, then not at all... it wont be smooth...

yea we dont want that. I will post up some more pictures of tomarrow progress. I have an idea of what to do. Im just a little worried about the rest of the ramp. Ive been reefing on it with the crane trying to get the right angle and I noticed the back vertical part of the ramp and the bottom bow a little. But once I weld the angle iron where i want it to go and then releave the pressure from the crane holding the angle up. The ramp should bow back to place. HOPEFULLY!

Im thinking about maybe removing the box iron in the center of the ramp. Its obvious I overbuilt this ramp awhile ago and im thinking of peices I can cut out to shave some weight. Think it will be enough support or would I have to add more angle in the center if i took out the 2x2 box? ![]()

i wouldnt take off anymore than you have man.... wait doesnt matter... safety should be your main concern.... i have only ever seen one ramp fail.... but it went realy badly! to be honist... it looks pretty solid right now.... except for the slight adjustmenst to the transfer..... you have yourself a solid ramp there! nice job!

i got the angle down to where it looks much better. check er out!!! think it needs more?? ![]() ![]()
