Default 1995 Yukon Brakes

WELL... i put a new rearend in my truck and i cant bleed the brakes. there is no brake juice at the rear wheel cylinders. yes the resivoir is full. i unhooked the rear line coming out of the master cylinder and it squirts when brake is applied.what the hell is the problem? i also checked the rubber line in the back because sometimes they collapse and there is no juice in front of it. it goes into the electrical box (abs)? and nothinng is comin out the other side. what the hell???

Open the bleeders up on both wheel cylinders and let them gravity bleed for a little bit. Then bleed them normally. Pump Pump Pump... Hold Crack the bleeder. Repeat.

Unless the proportioning valve is bad and nothing is getting through. There should be nothing restriction the flow of brake fluid.

well i think the proportioning valve must be scewed up! is their a way to check this? the front brakes are dragging and the rear has no brake juice at all. i checked at the master cylinder by pulling the line and hit the brake petal and got a squirt. and i checked on the otherside of the box which may me the proportining valve and there wasnt a drop. firestone wants to charge 1089.$ i told them they were nukin futs! for about 600$ i can replace every brake component on there.i am gonna replace the front rubber lines maybe one has collapsed and the caliper on the side that is locking up.i just dont see where one could effect the other because they are stand alone systems. ???? but i have pumped till i am am blue in the face.i usually bleed them by sticking a clear hose on the valve and the other end in brake fluid. wait till all bubbles are gone . it can suck any air in this way

Sounds like the proportioning valve is closed and is not allowing fluid to reach the rear brakes. Try pumping the petal first and see what happens. If you can get somewhat of a petal, push down hard on the petal, with the rear bleeders closed.
This should reset you proportioning valve.
If this work, then pump the petal a few times and have someone loosen one of the rear bleeders.

SO THERE IS fluid going into the proprtioning valve but none coming out to the rear.i have pumped the shit out of them with the valves open.i guess i will try with them closed. will the front brakes over compensate if the rears arent working? because they are seeming to lock up.thanks for the help, lets hear it

Brake bleeding can be a bitch some times. Close the rears and pump the shit out of the pedal then open and close them. Pump them some more ad open and close them. If you pump the pedal with both open then you won't get shit but air pushing the fluid back into the resivor. What you can do is get some small diameter clear tube a few feet, two water bottles the smaller the better or baby food jars. Pierce the lids and feed the tube in equal lenghts on both calipers and fill each jar or bottle half way with clean brake fluid. Attach the two lines to each bleeder with them open. Then leave them open and pump the shit out of the pedal and it will help draw the fluid from the M/C faster and you won't only be sucking just air. But make sure where the tube goes into the bottle or jar that it's pretty air tight as best you can.

DUDE, i have a clear hose in a bottle of brake fluid . one end on the valve one end is submerged. the problem is there isnt any fluid in the back.there are no kinks in any of the lines. i guess what i need to know is how to get the fluid to go through the proportioning valve. mabe the valve has to have pressure between the the output side and the rear cylinders to open up?

OKAY, I missed that one in your past posts. Then I would suspect the porportioning valve.

YES the prop. valve. but how the hell do you adjust or get it to start squirting? i replaced my rearend and the rear resivoir went dry. my front brakes are acting like they want to lock up so i decided it would be a good idea to get the rears working. and here i am!

If the rear rez went dry then I would suspect there is still alot of air in the system.
