cannondale.. huh.... while they are a pretty cool quad... they aren't a speed demon by any stretch of the imagination.... and figure in the horrible lower end problems and the battery not charging problems... but the frame beigne the oil tank is a cool idea... kinda of buellish dont; ya think....

cannon-snail had some good ideas for their time ,seems they tried every trick i nthe book to build up the engine to be competative agaisnt the built 250's of that time and it was subsequently unreliable overproced because of it .a few years ago ive seen a new cannondale 440 speed race a newer banshee with just a set of fmf fattys and the she walked right by it in a open field pretty bad after about only 100 feet

ive seen them at the dunes and they spank my wifes banshee but its just piped and a single carbs but I remember that the gas gas sounded really good

ya...... i raced a speed440 with my gasgas in sugar sand down in the pine barrens. and he hung with me to about the top of 2nd, and the rest was history. oh ya i also launch in 2nd. so it was pretty unimpressive, later that night i saw it all fucked up after goni through a water crossin, back fireing and shit, guess the comp. got wet. well good luck with your 400ex eater
