I have always thought that anodized engine covers look good. I have seen a lot of aluminum that was powder coated and the aluminum oxidizes under the powder coat. It ends up peeling off and looking like hell, that may be a good excuse to chrome it. Chrome engines are easier to keep looking good than polished covers. But polished covers can always be lightly sanded and repolished so it a trade off there.

one of the local guys here does that powder chroming stuff. the colors look awesome. i couldent belive it was powdercoat.
