| front has preload adjustments on each side. You can spin the collor through 4 different settings with a pair of channel locks. Remember, stiff as possible is not always the best. As for the rear its a little more complicated and you wont get much result. I would imagine your dealer would be happy to adjust the spring to add a little stiffness for your weight class. You can also look for a stiffer spring to replace it, but you would get the best ride with a new shock. Works Quadstar is a decent rear shock for the money ($500 on bikebandit.com) It all depends on what kind of riding you do. If your gonna jump it 10+ ft in the air then you need elka or axis all the way around. (Lots of $$$) If you want a nice ride in the woods, fields, semi rough terrain, Works will do fine. If you do go with some aftermarket equipment, get shock covers. They will extend the life of your stuff quite a bit. Last edited by Yfz350W; 06-04-2006 at 07:16 AM. |

| Dialing the knob on the back don't do shit. Its just a reboud adjuster...hard or soft rebound. If you want to make the "bound" or compression stiff, you need to look at the manual and see which knob of the lower 2 are for compression adjusment. Those two screws are going to be hard to get to because they are usually at the very bottom of the shock where it mounts to the quad. If i were you, i would definately take it to a shop and get a 200+ spring put on it, and have them revalve it for your weight. Last of all, you may want to get a cheap pair of front shocks that are rebuildable so you can make them to your weight. Works makes a cheap set, so does 1 Dir Racing. Also, you may get away with yfz shocks on the front, but i'm not sure if that is an acutal viable shock or not (ask around and see if people have done it). Hopefully that helps a little.
