A .070 base, thats crazy. A .010 base will still leave you with a .030 positive deck unless you jug has been previously decked. Or if you are running the spacer and two gaskets that would leave you with a .020 postive deck. If I remember correctly on the stock heads I have messed with, which all happen to be a 88 design .020 milled leaves the edge flush and anymore is unecessary. So you add .030 deck and a .010 CR gasket and you have .040, but the stock head chamber is too small for a setup like this. With .050 squish and milled .020 they will carry around 210 psi on a 188 EX with a comp ratio that is really too high while the squish is too long. That isnt the optimum setup but it does work ok and will get you in the ball park for power. Because of the way honda setup the deck height on those jugs you really have to fish around and spend some more money to get the head design in peak performance state.
