Default Sand Tires for Snow?

Hey E2S, I know it's not that time of year yet but it never hurts to prepare early . For those of us who live in the snow belt, have you ever had experience with sand tires in snow? Idea popped into my head for no reason, just wondering whether it would be worth it or not? Just from the tread design, it looks like a sand tire would outperform my razr's anyway. Wondering if anybody has experience with this, if ya can chirp your .02 that would be great!

I would imagine it would work, but I would be worried about ripping a paddle on hidden rocks, etc. Just my .02.

I tried some 10 paddle tires a few years back. They worked great for as long as they lasted, which wasnt very long at all. The soft rubber had no reinforcement in the paddles and as the temp got below 20 degrees they just started breaking off under hard acceleration. Wooly's and copies seam to be about the best all around that I've found.

Don’t do it
The only way you get tractions is digging down to the ground its like running sand pattles on the ground it will work but they wont last.
Bye about 1,000kold kutters start there if you want to run in the winter-ice

stock balloon tires work good in snow just not really deep snow tho, but for the front tires they need to be similar to skis on snowmobiles.

I havent been here in a long ass time but has any one actually ran a set of sand paddles in the snow? i know when i was running them on the sled trails i was having no problem keeping up if not passing snomobiles. as for the life of the tire no problems here ran the psi a little low and ran like a sob. For the ski idea up front? learn to drive in the snow.

my buddy rode in the snow with the set of paddles that came with his shee when he bought it. i think they were turbo paddles, the biggest pile of shit paddle tires you can buy, but they worked ok in the snow and he dident care if they wore down.
