fliped wheels?

i got new front wheels dune tires for my banshee from www.rockymountainatv.com and they were mounted opposet of what the wheels that came on it when i bought the bike. the valve stems are on the dish side of the wheels now and my front end is now about 3 inches wider and looks a hell of alot better. i think of this as a good thing but i havent ridden it yet. is there any downside to haveing your wheels mounted this way?

So your valve stem is on the inside of the wheel. If so yes usually if you have a normal stem and not a low profile it will hit your roter. It its just that the offset is different than your old rims and the valve stem is on the outside and just the offset is set out rather than in I would say its a good think because that is how my tires are and it works fine for me. Wider stance is a good thing just be carefull turning the first few times.

Yes it is a good thing... I ordered my new wheels and tires spacifically like this so that it would be wider. stock banshees are setup for most of the people. The only bad thing about having wider offset is in tight woods riding you will have more trouble fitting between trees. stock banshee rims have more space on the inside of the rim than the outside. it protects the brake calaper and rotor better and makes it fit in tighter areas better but having it oposite with the larger portion of the rim on the outside gives it more stability and better looks.

yah mine are like yours now, much better. i dont ride the woods much, mainly the sand. so this mod realy has no downside for me then.

sometimes the wider offset wheels can bend teh spindles a bit if you jump alot. i know that blasters are terrible fo for this. flipped offset wheels are alot lie using a front wheelspacer

Interesting... I never heard this before. I very rarely jump so I think im ok...

When you ride on choppy sand you may notice more bump steer. This is because of the same reason it could bend the spindle more easily, added leverage from the wheel being farther out on the spindle.
