anyone know anything about DS 650's???

I got a guy wanting to race me for $100. I dont really want to loose $100 so Im wondering if anyone has any experience with Dog Shit 650s. anyone who has raced one or ridden one. I rode one a while ago with a pipe and cam mod and it seemed kinda fast on top end. but it takes a little to get that tank rollin. I really dont know what this guy has done to this thing but its nuthin too extravagant. my mods are in my sig. what ya think...

p.s. I know im kinda vague with this cause I really dont know what he has done but give me your best educated guess..

Its been so long since I rode that ds that I dont really remember how it was (in comparison to my shee) and I dont really know how that one compares to this one. I really want to race him. But I DONT WANNA LOOSE!!! I have all out killed raptors with full exhausts, valves, cam, etc... so I would think I would smoke a ds modded or not... I have a 15 tooth on the front (stock rear) sproket but I am gunna throw a 16 on tomorrow just for shits and giggles (cause Ive never had a 16 on this shee). I would prolly use the 16 to race him cause it will carry me faster on top and Im afraid he might have big gears on ...

My buddy has a baja. about a year or two old. He has some mods but not sure what. You should be able to smoke him no problem though. Let us know what you end up doing.

With all the sh*t you have in your shee i think it should be no problem. And you can always use the trick some people use on here- race on the left side and hit the kill switch right before take off. Im gonna try it on my cousin- he'll think he ran out of gas or something lol

In a very recent Dirt Wheels Magazine, they did a shootout between a stock Shee and stock DS650. In the sand, that is. Upon their conclusion, the DS650 was the overall winner. They said time and time again the the 650 pulled away from the Shee. They also said that if the Shee got the "perfect" launch and machine-gun shifted "perfectly" through the gears, it won the shootout just a handful of times. Is Dirt Wheels 4-poke biased? Don't know.

also they are compareing stock for stock. my buddy has a bone stock banshee and its a hell of a lot different than mine. oh well if he goes through with it we will see. cause I never pass up the chance to race anything...

I read that Dirtwheels article too. The thing is they were comparing stock for stock. That DS tank does come with some better things off the showroom floor, but what really can you do to a 4-poke? Nothing compared to a 2-stroke, let-alone the quad with the most aftermarket parts available, the banshee! Get used to shifting with your 16 tooth sprocket then smoke his ass!

ive raced about five of them on the sand, and beat them. not by much since i only have fattys, k&n's and im still trying to get the jetting right. they all had pipes and filters also. it must of been a ds crue or somethin, and they all wanted to beat me. 5 agenst 1 and i still came out on top. 2 strokes rule.
