bobeaser is the guy to ask about the V-force3 reeds. I have never ran them because they are kind of a new thing for tecate's. Carbon Tech is a company name the guys at BS racing are using them in their drag tecate and spanking much ass! Plus they have a dyno and play around alot with different set ups, its nice to learn from their experiance. The SR300 kit is different then the L.A.sleeve 300 kit because L.A. sleeve does not match the port timing to the big bore so it makes less power. My 300 kit is not overly powerful IMO because mine has a 1MM. cylinder spacer and mossbarger reeds to bring out the bottom end, I screwed up and had my 300 built to make more torque (and it does) the down side is it kind of hurts my overall performance which was a trade off I made. Now I wish I would have had a motocross engine in mind because MX porting seems to work great for an all around powerful engine. There is a lot more power to be had from my engine which if you were to ever ride mine is a scary thought. SR300's makes good power with stock porting but like bobeaser said good porting works wonders and mine is only ported to match the big bore not to build on what it does normally (if that make sense). I have to say I am a fan of the 265 kits and the 330 kits. The PVL ignition is also a great thing if your lights are not a important to you. I saw a 250 with just a slight over bore, shaved flywheel, and a good port job walk all over a 265 with minimal porting and a PVL ignition and my 300 with almost no porting (just enough to make the 300 breath). Also having your flywheel lighted is a nice mod. They have a monster flywheel and its way heavy, drop some wait and they get real snappy.
SR = Sprock Racing and its a good name to know if you own a tecate. You can get some great deals from him and he will become a good friend that always calls to see how things are going, plus he is pretty funny.
I would have your engine ported for MX (if your into play riding), get a 38mm pwk or air stryker, go with carbon teck reeds on a stock cage if you want to save some cash or go with V-force3 if you can afford them, If you want to upgrade to a big bore later I can hook you up with Corey or you can talk to him on kawieriders he is Magoo. You can send him your stock ported cylinder as a trade in on the big bore and 39mm carb, make sure you tell him you want the big bore ported or you may not be that impressed giong from a ported 250 to an unported big bore. I'll say that the 330 big bore is a thrill ride.
Sorry for the long post but I think its usable info.
