Exclamation Carb synchronizeing

Well finally made it to silverlake last wekend. It was fucking awsome!!! At the end of sunday the shee started running a little funny. I noticed the left pipe was blue as hell, and the right was normal. The left always smoked a little less than the right, Ive gotten it as close as I could, but they are still off. So anyone have a trick to doing it?? Or do i have to spend ninety bucks on the carb synchronizer. I heard of useing a ignition light, and a friend told me to rig up a water thing. Just wondering if anyone has a simple way.

by eye sight. Take the intake boots off the carbs and then look at how they both move up together / if one moves before the other then WOT and stick your finger up there and make sure they both move up all the way.

I'm more of a guage type dude, but you can get it pretty close as sniperd described. You can actually see quite well just by removing the air filter and shining a penlight into the opening. You likely already know this, but adjustments should be made with the cable adjuster at the top of the carb not the idle screw.

I know that much. I was more worried about the fuel-air screw. Each one will be different. Yeah i can get the slides to be the same, but not the mixture. Seems you check that with the vacume, the more power (right mixture), the more vacume. Motion pro makes a vacume tester for 90bucks. Just hoped there was a easier (less expensive) way. My left side isnt getting enough lube, and running a shit load hotter. I need to act quick before I fuck it up more.

I synched mine by sight and feel. If you've got a crank seal leaking on the left side, it will be running leaner, what do your plugs look like?
