I just picked up a new cylinder

Hey all, i just picked up an 87 zilla cylinder. The question I have is how can you tell if it's ported? It has V.P. etched in the side anyone know what that means?
Dont know if the bore will clean up but i only payed 50 bucks for it. And he guaranteed no cracks, so i gotta take it in on Monday.
