what was actually wrong with the stock ones that made them fail quite often? i had read that one problem with them is comming off of jumps alot of times the motor would cut out from it not working correctly.....but like what went wrong with them?

speed doesnt kill, its usally hitting something and suddenly becomming stationary that does it

One of they guys that i go riding with fixed up a tri-z. His really rips. He put a yz power valve cylinder on it though.

the tri-z did have some poor engineering to it.mine has been really good to me. the only thing that i can say is bad about them is the motor vibration and the waterpump set-up is really lame.oh yeah,the weak footpeg set-up sucks also. but then again almost every machine has downfalls.

Theres a whole motor on ebay right now.

Does anyone know if any of the CR cylinders will fit an R? Ive see people put the YZ250 on the Tri-z, KX500 on the tecate, but never heard about any cylinders like that going on an 250R motor. Sorry to horn in on your thread just thought I'd ask since someone looking might know.

i think there is one that you can, only thing is that you have to do something with your crank so that it makes the powervalve work correctly. ohh and with the kx500 cylinder on the tecate, if you looked closer at that one, they did a buttload of welding and machinging on that set of cases to get it to work.
